WEYI – Mid-Michigan’s Best Moms Rules
Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to submit a nomination in this contest, entrants must be U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older, nominees must be 18 years of age or older, and all must reside in the in the WEYI/WBSF viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Chesapeake Media I, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WEYI /WBSF (collectively, the “Station”), Betsy’s Prom & Tuxedo, Stevens Cycle Sales, Inc., Pure Bliss Salon & Spa, Herter Music Center, The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, and Sullivan’s Irish Alley Inc., their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per contestant.
(b) To enter, log on to www.minbcnews.com and click on the contest page. Complete the online entry form with your name, address, telephone number, and birth date, the nominee’s name, address, telephone number age, and describe in 250 words or less the reason why the nominee should win “Mid-Michigan’s Best Moms”, upload a picture of you with the nominee and click “Submit.” No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted. Picture must be in a JPEG format.
(c) By entering, entrants represent and warrant (i) that they own the picture submitted, (ii) the essay is their work, (iii) the picture does not violate the rights of any third parties, (iv) the picture has not been altered or enhanced with any software (excluding redeye), and (v) that they agree to the terms and conditions located at http://www.minbcnews.com/about/about.aspx?id=642. No lewd, nude, crude, or offensive photographs (as determined by the station in its sole and absolute discretion) will be accepted. The station reserved the right in its sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any entry.
(d) The contest starts at 12:00 a.m. EDT on April 21, 2014, and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EDT on April, 27, 2014, to be considered for the judging period. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries for printing errors, server unavailability, computer, or any other electronic malfunctions.
(e) Each entry will be judged and scored by a panel of six (6) judges comprised of station personnel based on the following criteria: Content 50% and compelling nature of essay 50%. On April 28, 2014, the judges will determine four (4) finalists based on the score for the criteria set forth above. The decisions of the judges shall be final.
(f) Between May 1, 2014 and noon on May 7, 2014 (the “Voting Period”), viewers will be asked to vote online at www.minbcnews.com for his/her favorite finalist nomination. Voting is limited to one vote per account holder per day during the Voting Period; duplicate votes will be disqualified. Facebook “Likes” are not considered votes. On May 9, 2014, the Station will determine one (1) grand prize winner based on the nomination entry with the most valid votes. Finalists are prohibited from obtaining votes by offering prizes or other inducements to members of the public, vote farming, vote purchasing, or any other activity that artificially inflates such finalist’s votes as determined by Station in its sole discretion. In the event of a tie, one (1) winner will be randomly selected from among the tied finalists. The remaining finalist will deemed second place winners.
The Station reserves the right to determine in its sole and absolute discretion whether the online votes are valid, and may disqualify any duplicate votes. Multiple and/or irregular votes or multiple votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source will be considered invalid.
(g) All nominations received that are mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, from ineligible entrants, or are duplicate entries will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and the Station, and will not be acknowledged or returned

All entries (including essays and pictures) become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and the Station, and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize
1. Three (3) second place winners will be selected. The second place winners will each receive a $10 gift certificate for Betsy’s Prom & Tuxedo, $10 gift certificate for Herter Music Center, Pure Bliss Salon & Spa gift certificate valid for choice of one (1) 25-minute massage or one (1) 30-minute facial, and a $10 gift card for Stevens’ Cycle Sales. Each second place prize package is valued at $75. One (1) grand prize winner will be selected. The grand prize winner will receive a $50 gift certificate for Betsy’s Prom & Tuxedo, $50 gift certificate for Herter Music Center, Pure Bliss Salon & Spa gift certificate valid for choice of one (1) 60-minute massage, one (1) 60-minute facial or one (1) 60-minute body treatment, and a $50 gift card for Stevens’ Cycle Sales. The grand prize package is valued at $350. Gift card/certificates are subject to the terms and conditions of the providers.
2. Winners will be notified by telephone. Before claiming prizes, winners must provide their correct names, addresses and birth dates to Station at the time of notification. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within seven (7) days of notification at the time winners claims their prizes in person at the Station. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prizes based on the identification presented.
3. If the grand prize winner cannot be notified within five (5) days, or does not timely sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited, and the grand prize package will be awarded to the second place winner with the next highest number of votes. If a second place winner has already claimed her prize, it can be exchanged for the grand prize. If a second place winner cannot be notified within five (5) days, or do not timely sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, then the second place prize package with be forfeited.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. Each winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. Winners must complete and sign a Form W-9.
6. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any 30-day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
7. Chesapeake Media I, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc., are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
8. Chesapeake Media I, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Chesapeake Media I, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc., have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes received by each finalist.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WEYI, 2225 W. Willard Rd., Clio, MI 48420, and on the Station’s website at www.minbcnews.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to WEYI, 2225 W. Willard Rd., Clio, MI 48420 by May 31, 2014.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Chesapeake Media I, LLC, The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, Betsy’s Prom & Tuxedo, Stevens Cycle Sales, Inc., Herter Music Center, and Pure Bliss Salon & Spa, accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes, or contest information.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
